Repeat these procedures twice daily until your next office visit.
Bleeding
Following your surgery, some bleeding may show through the dressing. This is no cause for alarm. If excessive bleeding occurs on the day of surgery, begin the procedure for soaking your foot immediately, instead of waiting for the next day. Apply compression to the area to help stop the bleeding.
Drainage
The area will begin to drain slowly and may continue to drain over the next several weeks. The area may also become slightly red and swollen and may even appear to be infected. This is normal. If, however, you begin to experience extreme redness and swelling associated with excessive discomfort, please contact the office immediately.
Medication
As the anesthesia wears off, you may notice some discomfort. You may take over-the-counter pain medication as needed.
Please feel free to contact the office at any time should you have any questions or concerns. For your convenience, the doctor is available 24 hours a day by calling our office.
